Holiday Deadlines and Tips

As we approach the upcoming holiday season, we wanted to provide you with two quick updates:

1. Friday December 22, 2023 is the deadline to submit lien instructions with respect to liens to be registered on or before December 31, 2023.

 2. We have recently noticed that some condominium buildings have posted prominent signage at their front entrances that Airbnbs are not permitted in their building. We think this is a useful suggestion for many condominiums that prohibit short-term rentals in their governing documents, but continue to experience problems with owners who nevertheless try to rent their units on a short-term basis. The prominent signage may discourage short-term renters from trying to stay at the property, and we think sends a strong message to short-term rental operators looking to purchase units for short-term rental that this activity will not be tolerated in the building.
